Le parc est surtout centré sur les oiseaux, mais il y avait quelques autres animaux, dont 3 suricates ;)
J'ai déjà fait des posts dans mon LJ en english, et j'ai la flemme de traduire en français, mais je voulais principalement partager les photos ici, qui peuvent très bien se regarder sans commentaires ;)
Il vaut mieux attendre que tout se charge avant de regarder, sinon la page risque de sauter au fur et à mesure du chargement ;)

A few weeks ago, before the meeting in Brussels I stopped at the paradisio park.
It's mostly containing birds, but one of their emblems is also a meerkat, so I thought it would be interesting to pay them a visit. :)
They have the meerkat on a coin, but I forgot to buy it ;)
So one random photo of birdies on the way to the meerkats...
I find the meerkat enclosure.... tiny enclosure 0_o
and it seems there are only 3 kats left.
Fortunately they were quite receptive, and happy to see people passing by.

They really were coming close at that edge of the enclosure, you could touch them if you didn't need your fingers anymore.. ;)
They had these globes for kids to go watch them, but they were so dirty you couldn't really get any good view..

After spending a couple hours with the kats, I went away to see what else they had.

The white one seems small but it was huge,
The fishes that looks like regular small red fishes next to him, are already very big,
so imagine the big white.. :)

Then I head toward the Roo enclosures..

Nah, as it was quite warm that day there are a few more hiding under there.
And there's even a cute cub
But noisy kids passing by, made him jump into the pouch and hide.
Then heading toward prey birdies.
Then,they were going to have a show where the prey birds are flying over the audience and such.
Good opportunity to train with the camera taking action shots :)
So after a short break with prey birdies
I came back for more kats :)
*g* it could be interesting to see the meerkats reactions, and put them on the ground of the prey birds show );) ?
That could make some nice action shots too ;P
As I came back they seemed to be hungry, I don't know when they get their lunch, but it seems they hadn't gotten anything yet.
They were looking for things to eat, munching on dead dry branches and stuff.
After lunch nothing better than some cuddle time :)

Unfortunately, that one and some of the following pics have lots of noise at full res, as I was cranking up the shutter speed to take more action shots, so it also cranks up ISO and you get more noise, I should have locked ISO too ....

I wish I could find a zoo with meerkat cubs nearby.
The Beauval zoo seems to have regularly new born meerkats every year.
None yet for this year, but I'll sure keep an eye for them.
Maybe visit them next weekend to see just in case they didn't update the site ;)
There should still be a few young kats <1 year at least :)
And if you make the count of all the new born, that is if they keep them all in the zoo, there should be many kats there.
Hopefully they also have good point of views to watch them.
